Picnic blankets and dance day at Pangapealse nursery

The dance day held at Pangapealse nursery on 21 May feels like an age ago already. But in summer the clock runs many times faster than in winter and there is nothing I can do about it. It was morning a moment ago and evening is already here. It was Monday a moment ago and Thursday is already looking in at the door. It was May a moment ago and half of June has gone.
The dance day was a thoroughly splendid event. The weather did lead us on, and an event planned for outdoors with 300 children now had to fit into the hall. But everything had been thought through to the last detail and nothing went wrong at all.
Several hours of joyful dance and music; a honeybee from Lottemaa and some troll with a green face kept up the commentary and told stories of the lands the dance day travelled through. I wrote down all the dances and performers so I could make a nice summary here with pictures and captions.
First, though, my blankets waiting for the children and the children waiting beside the blankets for permission to settle themselves comfortably on them. 🙂

This time these blankets are for sitting comfortably on the hall floor. Summer will reach us one day too and they can start being used outdoors.
Now, though, pictures from the Pangapealse dance day, to which dance groups had come from nine nurseries (if I have counted right) in Harku parish and from the neighbourhood as well, from Laulasmaa nursery. Under the pictures are short explanations of what is happening.

A couple of weeks later I finished the remaining blankets too. I will not make a separate post about it; here are the pictures to look at.

More pictures of these blankets in the portfolio. There were 6 blankets in all.
