Recently I tried my hand at sewing pencil cases and diary covers. The result was, I think, rather sweet.

Now I have an order for 30 pencil cases, little linen bags as a present for Teachers' Day. The bags are of linen, denim and other fabrics. For decoration there are laces, ribbons, little buttons, appliques and quilting.
The lining is silk or cotton. Hidden under the lining is thick wadding, which makes the bag soft and pleasant and protects make up or stationery from knocks.
Every bag has a character of its own. No two are alike.

The surprise is that I am trying to finish 60 of them instead of 30. So if you would like to give a present like this to the teachers at your own institution, let me know. Thirty little bags are waiting for a new home before the end of the month.

PS. The picture at the top shows a set with a pencil case and a diary cover (an A5 format teacher's diary). A suitable present for Christmas as well. Now and through October is the best time to plan Christmas presents and agree on orders.

The price of one bag is 8 euros
The price of a diary cover is 8 euros
For orders of 10 items or more, the price is 7.50 euros.

Violin case repair

Last school year, I repaired my grandchild's violin case. The loops meant for attaching the backpack straps had torn off. She cycles to school, and it’s impossible to ride while holding the violin in your hand. Naturally, the violin and case—which belonged to the school—went back at the start of the summer. Now that the new school year has begun, she has been issued a school violin and case again, but this one is in even worse condition than last year's. So, I undertook the repair once more. This time, I decided to replace the entire back panel—including the piping—and cover the torn section at the end of the case with a leather patch. I used reflective tape for the top layer of the piping. The video condenses six hours of work into three minutes. If anyone finds themselves in need of a similar repair, I will be able to take on a few jobs starting in February 2027, and I can handle a few at a time during the summer break.
