New product labels.

PictureA printed label

When I opened my company a year ago and looked for ways to order product labels with my logo in Estonia, I eventually ran into a complete dead end.
Since I sew mostly large and exclusive commissions (quilts, custom designed instrument bags, beanbags and so on), my preference was for woven labels rather than printed ones. After a long time googling and writing emails I finally found a company that weaves and prints custom product labels in Estonia. On the phone and by letter the company was not willing to accept an order or to communicate at all, but demanded that I drive over in person.

What else could I do. So I drove to Tallinn to see them and learned that for fewer than 500 labels they would not even start their machine. As for printed labels, I learned that my logo is in the wrong colours, that the background tone I wanted is not to their taste, and whatever else besides. In the end I left backwards out of there, thoroughly labelled an idiot.

I tried to find another company, but had no luck. Feeling hopeless, I finally turned to a promotional products firm. After a week of searching and various refusals they found a company from which they ordered the 200 printed labels I wanted. I had already given up hope of woven labels. One label cost 0.67 euros.

Now, a year later, I decided to find a way to order woven labels after all, and found it with our neighbours across the sea.
There is no need to go on about it; look for yourself.
The website is in several languages. There are price offers for woven labels in various formats according to the choice of colours (2, 3 or 4 colours). There are folded labels and labels to be sewn on flat.

Quantities of 100, 250, 500 or 1000. The order is fulfilled within 20 days of payment arriving. What more could the soul want.

I sent a letter saying I wanted to order both folded labels (to be sewn into a seam) and labels to be sewn on flat. I attached the logo (they asked for a pdf). Then they sent me a first draft and a colour chart, from which I chose the background tone for the logo.

It took longer than I had hoped. But never mind.
As a mishap it also happened that some clever person had written FINLAND instead of ESTONIA on the package, and I received the labels only after Christmas instead of at the start of December as hoped. But the work is proper and I am very pleased.
Where I paid 0.67 euros each for the printed labels back then, this time the woven labels cost only 0.24 euros each.
I am very pleased and grateful and warmly recommend them to you as well. I got the information about 3Exter myself from other Estonian crafters, who were also very happy with the service offered.

Here are a few more pictures, with explanations under each.
