The results of KangaDzungel's "Make something new from old" prize game

In April KangaDzungel ran a prize game on its Facebook page, with around a hundred entries. Entrants had to submit a picture of their work with two photographs: BEFORE and AFTER.

From the KangaDzungel Facebook page:
The winner of our prize game "Make something new from old" with the most likes, and of a gift card worth 50 euros, was Kristel Kaer, and her work can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/kangadzungel/photos/a.797440790303519.1073741844.162183643829240/802669663113965/?&theater

Choosing KangaDzungel's own favourite turned out to be very difficult; the one chosen, and the owner of a 50 euro gift card, was Timo Talvik, whose work can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/kangadzungel/photos/a.797440790303519.1073741844.162183643829240/807500235964241/?&theater

We are also giving a consolation prize, a gift card worth 30 euros, to Mailis Kess. Her work can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/kangadzungel/photos/a.797440790303519.1073741844.162183643829240/806651096049155/?&theater

Thank you to all the fans.
For the four quilts I entered I received almost 300 likes in all. Here is a picture of the one that gathered the most likes, the work that was finally judged worthy of a prize.

Violin case repair

Last school year, I repaired my grandchild's violin case. The loops meant for attaching the backpack straps had torn off. She cycles to school, and it’s impossible to ride while holding the violin in your hand. Naturally, the violin and case—which belonged to the school—went back at the start of the summer. Now that the new school year has begun, she has been issued a school violin and case again, but this one is in even worse condition than last year's. So, I undertook the repair once more. This time, I decided to replace the entire back panel—including the piping—and cover the torn section at the end of the case with a leather patch. I used reflective tape for the top layer of the piping. The video condenses six hours of work into three minutes. If anyone finds themselves in need of a similar repair, I will be able to take on a few jobs starting in February 2027, and I can handle a few at a time during the summer break.
