Summer: a time of peace and joy.
Although nobody has marked a cross in the calendar for the start of a holiday and there is no holiday pay and never will be, I am enjoying the summer to the full. 🙂
If I want to, I sew. If I do not want to, I do not sew.

Today I have so many pieces of work under way at once that I do not know myself what will be finished next. One day I cut fabrics into strips and squares. The next day I take on the appliques. The next moment, when my mind is tired and it is hard to concentrate, I take out my box of squares and start sewing patchwork skirts or the simplest square quilts instead. Or some new pattern or colour combination inspires me. Sometimes I want simply to quilt and leave everything else where it is.
A little chaotic, but I like it that way. And since no deadline is ticking at the back of my head, I simply enjoy the creative freedom. That is my holiday.
So they accumulate here. As if there is a quilt and yet there is not. I should probably photograph them and put the half finished pieces up for sale, and then quilt the wadding and backing on once a particular pattern has a buyer.
I think the next to be finished will be that large green quilt. After that I would like to make a quilt for myself. A couple of the grandchildren have outgrown their previous quilts. One exciting patchwork picture has been waiting its turn for ages. Plus exciting ideas for entirely new products and models.
