Autumn burst in through the door and landed straight on a child's quilt. A brush in one hand and paint pots in the other, and straight to daubing.
I did tell it that the quilting could be the colour of the quilt, but there was no stopping it. Swish and swash and blue stripes all over the quilt.
And that is how it came out. Soft, pleasant and hard wearing. Now it can be washed in the machine and generally knocked about without worry. It stays pretty and fluffy all the same.

The pattern uses cotton fabrics. The filling is wool (70%) wadding. The backing is flannel.

The quilt is a little stiff while new, but it grows softer with every wash. I see it with my grandchildren's quilts.
Wool wadding can be used in quilts with a dark pattern, because wool wadding is dark and shows through slightly under very light fabrics.
The quilt is 110x130 cm.
