My quilts and a quilt frame made by me.
I began making this quilt frame last year. A woodwork circle for adults was organised at the local school, a long awaited chance.
I have long wanted to try my hand at woodwork. I quietly gathered the prettier logs under the bed, out of the firewood.
So then: I started making the frame by turning the knobs. One in every lesson, later 2 and finally 3 in a lesson. They did not come out quite identical, but I like them.
Then I cut the slots in the large beams where the long rods go. Well, not rods but round mouldings. I sanded it all over with my own golden hands and a piece of yellow sandpaper. My husband helped make the supports and fix the turned knobs onto the rods. He snapped the heads off the screws, screwed them together and glued them. The knobs had recesses too, but they seemed too small.
Right then... a big fair is coming next week, so this time I will take quilts along as well. And all those sweet felt bags and little Christmas stockings and so on.
