Today another kannel bag was finished, this time for an instrument 80 cm long. The longest so far.
A soft, warm, pleasant nest for a precious kannel. The ornament is unique, chosen by the client from twenty odd on offer. There is reflective tape on the cover as well.

The kannel teacher Pille got in touch with me. She wrote that the shoulder strap loops on the kannel bags I sew are not in a very good place. The metal loops for the shoulder strap are on the back of the bag, at the top edge. Simple and logical that with the fastenings at the top the bag sits better on the shoulder, but you do not think of everything yourself. When designing my model, the examples in front of me were precisely bags with loops on the sides.
Thank you for the tip.

Following teacher Pille's advice, on this bag I sewed the shoulder strap loops at the top, on either side of the handle. The loops on the back stayed on as well, because I have already sewn a whole pile of bag pieces and cannot bear to throw them away at any price.
Now it is a fashionable bag with 2 loops, where music children can hang all sorts of fashionable trinkets, for instance a handful of key rings, beads, reflectors and every other kind of charm, which are apparently IN among schoolchildren at the moment 🙂

Inside there is a foam lining and mistra reinforcement in the base and the sides. Waterproof PVC material across the whole bag. The picture also shows the extendable shoulder strap with its rubber cover.

Inside the bag there is a cotton lining, bound seams and a small zipped pocket.
This kannel bag is the last of this year's orders. Further requests go on the list for the new year.
